Hi reader, my name is Iva, and I have been a Junior Digital Marketer at SeekandHit for the past five months.
As lately some new faces have joined the company (and more will join soon) we wanted to give a fresher entry of a “day in life” in the company.
Since I started working here, I often get asked what we do when working in digital marketing. Some think we do social media, some think we do SEO, organic content, and digital public relations; some think we are a creative agency that does everything from scratch, and some know we are a performance marketing agency. At least in the marketing segment.
Our marketing team divides into data analytics, tracking, and performance marketing. When joined, these three branches of digital marketing allow us to have a complete picture of a marketing campaign and its performance.
I’m part of the performance marketing team, and for me, this part of marketing looks like the stock market. We set up ads for clients on digital platforms such as the Google Network or the Meta space, working in two phases: the setup and the control. The setup is the stage where we get some materials for a campaign from the client, we decide on how to structure a campaign, choose the right bidding strategy, and set up the campaign in Google Ads, Facebook manager, or another digital platform. The second part starts when a campaign is live, and here’s when our job actually takes shape. In the control phase, we have to take care of the campaign to reach the planned KPIs, within a limited budget of money, and by having the right bidding values so the ad gets the best impression share, and thus brings out the best possible results.
But what does my day look like?
I usually come to the office between 9 am and 9.30 am depending on my tasks and my private schedule. We have a flexi-time policy as long as our tasks are done. I enjoy that option as this lets me organize myself according to my preferences.
After a good morning chat, I check up on my campaigns to see if everything is running as planned and I decide on my tasks for the day depending on the bi-weekly sprint assignments. Around 11 am the team usually goes for a coffee (because how can you even live without a “velika/mala s toplin/hladnim”?). When the break is over, I usually answer new emails, plan or set up upcoming campaigns, do the check-up tasks and eventually have a meeting.
After lunch, I have to admit that my energy level drops down, so frequently a couple of us go for a short walk to get a dessert, or have a ping pong match with our colleagues. Later on, I finish my tasks, and usually between 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm I go home.
Overall, the atmosphere at the company is very nice and friendly, and this is something you can notice already from the first time that you come here. We do work a lot, and oftentimes it is a bit challenging to handle a couple of clients or projects at the same time, especially when deadlines are close. However, what I like at SeekadnHit is that teamwork is a valuable asset of the company, and everyone is open to help no matter if you are at a junior or senior level.
In addition to that, education is a big must among us. Each team member has some personal goals to achieve, and the funny thing is that you don’t actually realize how much you know until you have to write a blog about your day-to-day and your knowledge. Just kidding of course, but in the five months that I’ve been part of SeekandHit, I have to admit that I’m happy to come to the office, and do some work!
So yes, working as a Junior at SeekandHit is great! 🙂
